Jon Newcomb is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Anoka. Over the span of his life, Jon’s path has had its share of twists and turns. Prior to entering the field of counseling, Jon has worn several professional “hats.” After graduating from Anoka High School, he joined the US Navy and spent four years serving in San Francisco. Following his active duty service Jon joined the Army National Guard, drilling in Mankato where he was able to take advantage of the GI Bill to complete a bachelor’s degree in education at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Jon has spent an additional 17 years in the military, serving in the Army Reserve, and recently retired from the Reserve after completing 23 total years of service.
Jon has taught music at the junior and senior high school levels. After leaving the field of education, Jon opened and ran a successful small business for many years. Later in his professional life, Jon became a senior manager with a prominent financial services company.
While working in these different career paths, Jon began getting involved in the lives of people with all kinds of problems. People seemed to sense that Jon could help them with emotional problems and relationship difficulties. After much encouragement from others, Jon decided to pursue counseling as a profession. At the age of 48, Jon went back to school, working toward a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in Eagan. Following that, Jon became licensed and began working at a counseling agency in the Twin Cities.
Now in private practice, Jon works with individuals and couples who are struggling in their lives and relationships. Jon has a strong track record of helping people find their way through painful and difficult times. Jon resides in Blaine with his wife Nancy. He is the father of five adult children, as well as the proud grandpa of 4 amazing grandchildren.
